A GREAT TIME TO SHIFT GEARS!
What is Walk Bike Bus?
Walk Bike Bus Spokane is a public education campaign offering individuals support to replace short car trips with walking, biking or taking public transit. The program is free to residents within a defined area and has delivered service to the South Perry District, Garland District, City of Millwood, and the Bemiss and Hillyard neighborhoods. The program is currently in the North Monroe neighborhood.
In partnership with Spokane Transit Authority and the City of Spokane, infrastructure enhancements will be made through this project. Past projects include added covered bike parking and information kiosks between 8th and 9th Avenues on Perry Street and near the corner of Garland Avenue and Lincoln Street.
Walk Bike Bus Spokane also includes:
- information specific to walking, biking and busing in Spokane County and around targeted neighborhoods.
- fun community workshops and events
- personal support from trained staff
- various safety items and incentives for reaching goals throughout the program
